Man City’s gaffer Pep Guardiola has confirmed the imminent departure of Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, 20, from the club.
However, the Spaniard fell short of mentioning his possible destination.
Speaking earlier during a press conference in the US, Guardiola explained the reason behind the omission of some players from the squad that went on tour, while also confirming the possible signing of some players.
It is understood that while striker Sergio Aguero will remain at the Etihad, Kelechi Iheanacho is close to completing a move to Leicester City.
Kelechi has scored 21 goals in 64 games in all competitions since making his debut in 2015, but Guardiola says he needs to move to where he can play and develop further.
”Kelechi is close to a move, it should be done in 10 days,” said Guardiola.
“It is an honour to work with him. It’s not easy for him as he didn’t get a lot of chances (in the team), but his behaviour was good.
